SOME USEFUL INFO
-what does it mean??

Attachments
Anything that is attached to the piece such as ribbons, brooch pins or key ring fittings is called an attachment.

Available Alloys
We will advise the best method for your particular needs. Alloys include pewter, zinc, brass, iron, stainless steel, aluminium, sterling silver & 9 carat gold.

Single & Double Sided
If an item has anything printed on the reverse side (apart from sequential numbering) such as wreath, logo, text, border it is classified as being double sided.

Diamond Cut
For die struck items we can offer a range of "diamond cut" edges for that very special medal or coin.

Zinc Die Cast
Stamped into a rubber mould, zinc is a very light & economical metal and the most cost effective way to go for larger quantities of 500+ 3D work and also intricate cut out work. You will love the result.

Pewter
Fine pewter is a light & rich metal which is spin cast, and at its best when left unplated.

Budget Soft Enamel
Best for large quantities and pins that require lots of paint fill & little metal area showing through-only available in brass & nickel plating which is not highly polished.

Offset printed
Picture perfect results are gained using offset printing onto metal. If you require "shaded" colours, this is the only way to go.

3D
Unless otherwise started all items are two dimensional (3D0. Three dimensional items and full 3D models are also available on request.

Cut-outs
When a piece has a hole cut into it as part of the design (excluding loops) this is called a "cut out". Available on most items.

Embroidered Patches
Cotton patches available in a range of sizes which can have iron-on, self adhesive, velcro or plain reverse sides. An economical solution for large quantities.

Die Struck
Stamped and highly polished with no enamel fill. Backgrounds can be sandblasted or textured.

Hard Enamel
Stamped & filled with enamel & baked at high temperatures-the highest quality finish made to jewellery standards.

Soft Enamel
A die is used to stamp out the design & then the piece is hand filled with enamel (which is notsoft at all) highly polished and finished. A clear epoxy coating can be applied but is not necessary.

Etched Soft Enamel
The design is etched into the metal & the enamel is poured into the hollows-great for intricate designs.

Silk Screened Soft Enamel
The background is paintfilled and the design is screened accross the top-great for logos with lots of colour and fine detail.

Bendable Soft Enamel
Looks like a soft enamel piece with clear epoxy covering but bends like magic-great for curved services, dairies & compendiums. Add a magnet attachment to fix to fridges or filing cabinets.
